Last week I visited a friend with my wife. While she and my wife talked I overheard a bit of the conversation and realized something. “Wait, did St. Rita answer that prayer you asked me to toss into the novena and you didn’t tell me?!” I said.
And it’s all good.
I’m happy to continue to pray. Even if the prayer is answered, I know that St. Rita can easily ask Our Lord to direct the grace somewhere else through His Blessed Mother.
What was truly astonishing to me is the fact that I have known this woman and her husband for many years and yet I never knew that they, like my wife and I, met on the ninth day of a novena to St. Rita! Maybe the real impossible causes are the friends we met along the way? Sorry, I’m laughing out loud at the stupidity of that comment.
