Good News for Florida on Three Fronts

Front #1:

For the three of you readers who don’t remember. Yours truly traveled to Siesta Key/Sarasota on a family vacation two summers ago. The other four of you remember well. I attended Mass in this beautiful church and enjoyed the magnificent beach and local community. We’ve started in touch with the innkeeper of a local establishment and we happily returned and sent her the referral business of friends.

I took the above picture on my last visit.

The church, it seems from the above post, is just fine and Holy Mass was celebrated there in the aftermath of Milton.

Deo Gratias!

Front #2:

Everyone’s favorite news aggregator, Frank Walker of Canon212.com is just fine. I checked in with him and he and the family survived largely intact. A more gracious man one could not hope to meet.

Again, Deo Gratias!

Front #3:

With permission of the priest in question I share this Instagram . I laugh because I know the guy and seeing him as the subject of an Instagram is, well, simply amusing. That said, God be praised that all my peeps in Miami have received this blessing.

Deo Gratias all around!

Fair Day

Sorry, folks… Got a little distracted with something that we do every year as a family.

If you can’t tell that I’m not talking about watching an old Rodger’s and Hammerstein musical, then you’ve never been to Texas.

Quietly Celebrating…

There are a lot of terrible things going on in the world right now

But my New York Mets just beat the Phillies to advance to the NLCS.

So there’s that.

Let’s go Mets! Ya’ gotta believe!

Urgent Prayers, Please

If through the wonders of modern technology, you lay eyes on this post, please pray for a dear friend who is on her deathbed. She once told me she wanted nothing more than for her children to become saints and then for her to die clothed in the scapular with the rosary being prayed around her.

St, Joseph; patron of departing souls, pray for her!

I Imagine It was Like This in the Days Leading up to the Flood

Folks, another one is heading to Florida. This one promises to be catastrophic in a way we haven’t seen in forever. Barnhardt points out that St. Petersburg has quite the sizable sodomy community (as she rightly pointed out Asheville’s demonic hub). I’m not arguing her points.

I will simply say this. I am reminded of a story about someone asking Gos whether He would spare an evil city if there were just ten just men there. Friends there are some decent people in Florida. And I hope they’ve gotten out.

I’ve been saying this for years. How many tens of millions of slaughtered babies did we think God would tolerate before His Mkther stopped holding back her arm?

Pray.

I always hope for the conversion of the sinner – myself chief among them. But pray before it is too late.

And stay confessed.

St. Joseph, protector in storms, pray for us!

…because I’m sure there’s more coming.

Fundamentals

The astute reader may have noticed that I have been busy of late. Travels, homeschooling, life in general.

That being said, I know how important it is (and how difficult it can be) to maintain an active prayer life. One of the most helpful aids I have come across in recent years is a podcast from Fr. Isaac Mary. It’s about 24 episodes in currently. If you have not listened to any of it, I suggest you start at the beginning. The initial episodes offer incredibly good advice on how to structure one’s day regardingprayer. Fr. has recently moved into a discussion of mental prayer.

Please check it out and please consider offering a prayer or two for yours truly. Thanks you!

Impossible

Not with God!

Another longstanding prayer of mine has been delivered.
