What Do You Call Him?

I call him Antipope Bergoglio (or just Bergoglio).

It gets tiresome, though, going down that rabbit hole with the uninitiated.

It’s also usually preceded by “probable false-prophet forerunner of the antichrist” and usually followed by “the arch-heresiarch”.

Something simpler, perhaps?

How about this…

A good friend was having dinner with his daughter for her birthday. She referred to the “faux pope”.

This got shortened to the…

Fauxpe

Brilliant! She gets all the gold stars!

Death, Judgement, Heaven, & Hell

Daily reminder to stay confessed…

Each of us will face these four last things.

Today I am thinking of my dear old dad, who received his judgment exactly 8 years ago today and also of the mother of a dear friend who received her judgment exactly 1 year ago today.

Please keep the repose of their souls in your prayers and remember again…

STAY CONFESSED!

Deacon Charles Outtier, RIP

Meant to post this earlier.

Please pray for his soul and for his family’s consolation.

A Great Day for Me – For the Broncos, Not So Much

47 years ago today, a six week-old me (along with my six week-old but three minutes younger twin sister) was taken to the church of St. Pius X in Cherry Hill, NJ and received the greatest gift I have ever been given.

I have long wondered why they waited so long to baptize me. Turns out that in the immediate years, following the Council the Church was really screwed up. There was apparently a general sense that baptisms should not take place during Advent. It could also have been that my mother at the age of 40 had just given birth to her 14th and 15th children, having had a cesarean section for the first time.

Regardless of all that, we were on that day, plucked from the grave of sin and given true life in Our Lord Jesus Christ.

God be praised indeed!

Also of note that day, Super Bowl XII was played. The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Denver Broncos 27-10.

I celebrated this great anniversary – better indeed, than my actual birthday – by going to Mass with my son and then enjoying a lovely breakfast with him and my mother-in-law.

Non Veni Mark had a post up a couple of days ago, talking about the need for each of us to know the day on which we were baptized and to celebrate it. Much thanks to him for the reminder. If you are not already doing so, please check out his page.

And Just Like That, There’s Another One!

My post yesterday about a TLM in Northern New Jersey elicited some great feedback. If even only one person gets to go, that’s great news.

Longtime reader AP wrote in with another super secret TLM location in northern NJ. This one’s in Bergen County and only on Sundays. But if you’re inclined, drop me an email and I’ll gladly direct you!

God be praised!

Trad Help for My Jersey Friends

This one is a little “micro”casting as they say, although no one says that.

I have recently learned of a TLM being offered daily in a small chapel in northern New Jersey. If any of you live up that way and are interested, drop me an email and I’ll happily direct you. The priest is open to more attendees than the one current young dad who stops in on his way to work every day.

Hey, we have to share these thing s when we hear of them.
