This, my friends, turns out to be my one thousandth consecutive daily post and I’d like to say thank you to all who have stopped by this page over the past few years. Many of you even came back a few times. It means more to this writer than you could know. Being able to share my stories and to know they aren’t simply going void into the ether is gratifying.
I thought I would share again one of my most favorite images for your edification on this day.

This is the Second Station of the across in mosaic. It is found along the Gospel side of the nave in the parish church of Our Lady of Good Counsel in my hometown of Newark, NJ. The image always struck me growing up. This was my parish and my father’s before me. Look at how Our Lord truly embraces His Cross for love of us, ungrateful sinners. See the adoration in His eyes and the joy He expresses as the Hour of His Passion has drawn nigh.
“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” -Mt. 16:24
What cross has He given you? What cross has He given me? Lord Jesus, help me to embrace – truly embrace – my cross for love of Thee!
