A friend of mine texted that question yesterday. I cannot imagine a reason why the people around him would find that a necessary option.

However…

Pope Francis’ body has now been revealed to the public, and observers quickly noted visible bruising along the left side of his face.

The only publicly known report of him falling dates back to earlier this year.
