Our Good Friend Andrew Dunn Lays It Out

Friends, here’s a fun story for you. Back in September of 2022, I had been blogging on my current trajectory (talking about the crisis in the Church daily) for about six months. Frank Walker had given me some headlines. I was on a bit of a high because people were starting to read me. More importantly, readers were emailing me and I was genuinely touched at their comments and at getting to know them. It’s amazing what turning the comments off will do. It forces people to write an email if they really want to communicate and that generally means more meaningful communication.

I found myself in upstate New York with my then-14 year-old son to participate in the final day of the Auriesville Pilgrimage of Restoration. On the bus ride from the staging area over the hilltop to the area where we would meet up with the fools pilgrims who had been marching for two days already, I struck up a conversation with a wonderfully chatty woman – the kind I just love chatting with. Friendly, normal, salt of the earth, and funny – this woman and k talked about life and the Latin Mass. I told her I blogged. She asked what my site was. I told her. She said, “no way!!!, as she slapped me on the arm. “My dear friend Andrew can’t stop talking about your blog!” It quickly dawned on me that I had seen his work as well. At the time Ann Barnhardt had linked to Andrew’s YouTube channel a few times. I loved his work on sacred art.

Anyway, the next thing I know, our friend has called Andrew on her cell phone and shoved the phone in my hand. And that, friends, is how friendships are formed.

I am so happy that he is posting on substack these days. I share with you now his latest. Pray for the people of Charlotte. It’s coming for all of us soon. And don’t forget to subscribe to his substack!
