Sanctae Familiae Jesu, Mariae, Joseph

Happy feast of the Holy Family!

For the vast majority of us, our sanctification comes through our role in a family. I will stand before God and be judged by how good a husband and father I was. And in th Holy Family of Nazareth, we have the perfect example of home life.

From the collect of the Mass:

“O Lord Jesus Christ, You Who while subject to Mary and Joseph, hallowed family life with virtues beyond description, grant us by their combined intercession, that, having been taught by the example of the Holy Family, we may attain unto their everlasting companionship. Qui Vivis et Regnas…”

To die in the grace of Our Lord’s Holy Church, with the names of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph on my lips… This is my aspiration. To imitate more perfectly in this life the purity if St. Joseph, the humility of the Blessed Mother, and the supernatural charity of Our Lord is my plan to get there.

Whiplash

The second episode dropped so fast I didn’t have time to react.

An article from Chris Jackson that opens with a quote from Sophie Ellis Bextor is definitely worth the read.

Nurse Claire Says… A LOT about the Flu!

Here it is, folks. Episode 1 of the much-awaited podcast “Nurse Claire Says”.

Visit the site for all the show notes.

Question for the good nurse: If I don’t have elderberry syrup can I use elderberry liqueur? Asking for a friend.

So go check it out. Lots of helpful information. And we love our nurses here at Harvey. I’ve got several siblings and in-laws who are RN’s and I’ve benefitted from their and many other fine caregivers’ compassion and wisdom over the years.

Nurse Claire has a Podcast!

Friends, if you, like me, have benefitted from the wisdom of a certain nurse anesthetist from a large city east of the Mississippi over the past five years, then hold on to your IV pole! Nurse Claire herself, first introduced to many of us through the Barnhardt Podcast (another one you NEED to be listening to) has launched her own podcast.

She’ll be talking about all the good stuff we’ve come to expect from her nurse-ly wisdom – health, drug protocols, bioethics, the true Catholic faith. I can’t wait to hit subscribe on this one.

A friend who is “super nerdy” says that not all podcast apps will see it immediately but it should be available on whatever platform you use within 48 hours. That being said, it is currently on Apple Podcasts. Link below.

Nurse Claire, I have appreciated your thoughts and I look forward to this endeavor. May Our Lord bless this. May Our Lady protect it. And because she’s my go-to girl, may St. Rita of Cascia bring you millions of subscribers.

Making Known Her Favor

Regular readers know of my devotion to St. Rita of Cascia, patron saint of impossible causes.

I am beginning another novena today. If anyone would like me to add your intentions, please email them to me. It is a joy for me to bring them to her.
