A Story in the Making

Clearly, I’ve been lagging in my posts lately. Summer is winding down and things are getting back to normal (or whatever passes).

I’ve got a funny story to tell that I hope to publish soon.

Meanwhile, please continue to pray for me and for my family. The kids are continuing with their schoolwork (we homeschool) and beginning some college classes too!

I will continue to pray for you.

St. Rita, pray for us!

A Friendly Reminder…

Pray for our priests.

It’s That Time of Year Again

This thing is my touchstone. Every year since I was ten, I’ve glanced down the road at the balloon for a brief moment. Every year it’s still there. I wonder if it’s anchored there. Sometimes I imagine that the people in the basket are stuck and waiting for someone to rescue them.

There used to be a farmhouse somewhere out there. They’d ask me to look at that too. They stopped showing me the farmhouse about three years ago. I understand it was struck by an EF-5 tornado. Sad really.

And for those of you who don’t have a clue what I’m talking about, congratulations! You have perfect vision and have never been for an eye exam. And I hate you. Not really but you get the point.

St. Lucy. Pray for us!

I Don’t Know Who Needs to Hear or See this (More than I)

TLDR

More like TDDR – “Too Dumb Didn’t Read”.

Came across an article about how Catholics need to “care for the earth” and “confess environmental sins” or some such nonsense.

I think I’ll borrow my friend’s diesel 2 ton dually and roll coal on a white Prius.

When Fr. Isaac Speaks…

Just like E. F. Hutton… people listen.

So here’s a fun story for you all. I have a friend who works construction. It’s a rigorous and rough life, but he is a strong young man trying to make his way in the world to establish himself. Keep him in your prayers because he is hopeful to meet a traditional young woman to marry and have many children with. He has certainly done everything on his end to make this happen including working hard, buying a home (albeit one on wheels), and most importantly, immersing himself in prayer and holy reading and listening.

A few nights ago, he was drifting off to sleep while listening to a recent episode of the Soldiers of the Immaculate podcast, he set a timer so he wouldn’t miss much of the episode when he did finally fall asleep. The next morning at 4:30 AM, he arose and got ready for work. Getting into his truck to head to the job site, he began to pray his routine of morning prayers.

He must’ve been asking for a sign from God or something similar. At a precise moment when he had fallen silent, the Bluetooth in his truck kicked in and immediately started playing the podcast from where it had left off the night before.

And that’s when he heard Father Isaac, Mary Relyea in the most perfect Queens accent, say the following:

“Burn in hell. Burn in hell.”

Obviously, this was apropos of nothing, but it sure gave my friend pause to consider whether he should go to confession and also a hearty chuckle.

If you do not already do so, please subscribe to Fr.‘s podcast.

Worth the Watch

The incomparable Ed Mazza, ladies and gentlemen:

Just finished watching this. It’s quite odd that Msgr. Bud never mentioned this letter until now. 🧐
