Just Waiting for a Train

These people looked magnificent.

See what we’ve lost? They look great. They’re groomed. They’re covered. They look like they care about themselves and others.

Then the “bomb” went off in the 60’s.

The station was demolished and sunk below ground with a brttualist concrete arena over it. And the people? They step outside in pajamas if they cover themselves at all.

God, please bring back civilization!

But don’t forget… Any man can do his part to bring it back.

My dad one time went to an office Christmas party in the late 1980’s. He wore his tuxedo. My mom wore her fur. Absolutely no one else was dressing the part. But within three years the invitations to that same party went out with the words, “Black Tie” on them and everyone had stepped up.

Father’s Day is this weekend. My wife and kids just bought me a new suit for my collection. It looks great. It’s being tailored as we speak. I’m shopping for a boater hat like my dad used to wear in the summer. Class act, that man.

Gentlemen, you will never go wrong following his advice to me. “A dark suit, a crisp white shirt, a tie, a hat, a pipe – these thing show the world who you are.”

God bless!

The General

Friends, a few years back, before I started my three years of daily trad-posting, I sent a letter to Miss Ann Barnhardt. She was kind enough to publish it.

First, ignore the “T” signature. Clearly I meant to type “H”. Second, I’d like to ask your prayers. I am in the same town in central PA where I made that first general confession and the Spirit has moved me during this Pentecost Octave to make another. It is hard only to determine to cast yourself at God’s feet and ask Him to humble you. Everything else is easy as pie.

Please pray for me – an Ave, a Memorare, anything simple. Ask Blessed Mother to help me make a thorough and good confession. I’m almost 50 so there’s a lot of ground to cover.

Finally, if you find any inspiration in this post, consider praying for the grace to do the same. It is a most phenomenal experience and the graces received are palpable.

Our Lady, Refuge of Sinners, pray for us!

A Very Good Question

Since I’m clearly still traveling the posts will likely remain short. Hopefully the brevity will be counterbalanced by some impact?

So here’s the Q.

Christ died for me. What have I ever done for Christ? – St. Ignatius Loyola
