Please, in your charity, say a prayer for a young man I met today who was on his way into church as I was leaving Mass. He is to be confirmed in the faith today. He was excited! He has taken St. Michael as his patron. He was even more excited and a little nervous to make a general confession following the confirmation and then to receive Our Lord on Holy Communion at the noon Mass.

God be praised and may the Blessed Mother watch over him!

The idea here is to honor the Blessed Mother during those nine months wherein she carried her Creator within her womb. She is truly the new Ark of the Covenant. I always like that title as I grew up in a city named Newark.

A very wise priest once told me that if you should receive answer to any or all of these prayers, continue praying for the duration of the novena in Thanksgiving and because no prayer in Mary’s hands is ever wasted.
