Who couldn’t use more of that?

I submit this picture from a friend who recently visited Eastern Europe.

A couple of “Fall Backs”

Don’t forget the clocks. Why we ever adjust them in the first place is beyond me, let alone for more than half the year. Don’t get me started on

But don’t forget also to set your missal back. It would seem we’ve run out of Sundays until the end of the month so we go back and use up those Sundays after Epiphany that we left hanging there. last winter.

The collect of the Mass (Fourth Sunday after Epiphany Resumed):

“O God, Thou Who knowest that our human frailty cannot stand fast against the great dangers that beset us, grant us health of mind and body, that with Thy help we may overcome what we suffer on account of our sins. Per Dominum Nostrum…”

Politics, Souls, and First Saturday

Reverse order from the headline…

November 2 is the the first Saturday of the month. Please avail yourself of the Blessed Mother’s request to make reparations for the outrages committed against her by partaking in this beautiful devotion.

November 2 is also All Souls Day. Go to Mass (or three), visit a cemetery, and pray for the dead. You will be among them one day. Remember that. There is a plenary indulgence granted to the souls in purgatory for those visit cemeteries and such. Look it up.

Finally, the current state of our “republic”. I have to laugh. Take a gander at this from my YouTube feed moments ago.

Cardi B?! Are you joking me? Don’t know who she is? Let me share some of her lyrics.

“Say little b**** you can’t f*** with me if you wanted to. These expensive, these is money, these is red bottomed shoes.”

That’s the tamest I can give you. The poor creature. Her IQ is below that of a boiled potato. She has for some time been prancing about “singing” little ditties about her nether regions and promoting general degeneracy. She is, to use one of her own favorite terms, a simple ho. But watch her eviscerate Donald Trump. I can’t wait.

Tuesday can’t come fast enough. We’ll either return to some semblance of normal oligarchy or see a repeat of the rent-a-riots from the George Floyd summer. In either case, see points #1 and 2 above.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee!

They certainly don’t make ‘em like that anymore.

On Carmel’s Height, I Join Their Fight

Dear friends, I have written in the past about the plight of the holy nuns of the Carmel of the Most Holy Trinity in Arlington, TX. I have followed their story for over a year now as the bishop of that diocese (Fort Worth, TX) has, well, let me see how I can say things with as much charity as I can muster… These dear women, who have given up their lives in the world to pray day and night for you and for me, have been besmirched, maligned, accused of terrible things, and dragged through legal processes both civil and canonical.

You are, of course, free to draw your own conclusions about who is at fault.

Please read this from Archbishop Vigano. It might help.

But I have lived quite the interesting life. I am a 46 year-old man, a husband and father, who spent much of his adult life working for the Church both teaching the faith and administering schools on Her behalf. One of those schools was in that bishop’s diocese. I was, as the kids say, non-plussed. OK maybe the kids in 18th century France said that but you get my point. I lived through McCarrick and I learned a while ago that the Sensus Fidelium begins with common sense. In other words, I will never again assign appellations to a prelate on the basis of a pectoral cross tucked neatly into his clergy shirt pocket. If you look and act like an effeminate weirdo, I will assume you are one until you prove me wrong. Why? Because I have to. I have a wife and kids. It’s my sacred duty to instruct them and protect them. If I don’t instinctively trust you to be a part of teaching my children, I’ll let you know.

But today I read of a new development. It seems the good sisters have been “dismissed from the religious state”. Hold the phone. They’re not nuns anymore?!

I’m calling BS on this one.

I have been blessed to have developed a correspondence with what I will only describe as an “acquaintance inside the walls of the cloister”. Again, use your head here, folks. Said acquaintance has graciously allowed me to share the following and I urge you to read and take action.

“We are not going anywhere but are peacefully determined to continue living our vocation of prayer for the Church and for the salvation of souls. We do pray for Pope Francis [sic] and Bishop Olson every day, we have not defected from the Catholic Church in any way.

“In order to help pay the expenses related to running our monastery and caring for our Sisters we would appreciate any donations that may come through our well wishers and friends, ( www.carmelnuns.com) especially since Bishop Olson is calling on the faithful not to offer us any financial support or attend Mass at our monastery. Donations can be made by visiting our website at the link above.

“We have received many messages of support since the announcement of the dismissal. We are most grateful for these kind words, there are some who have become confused and withdrawn their support. Please be assured we are keeping everyone in our prayers!”

So there you have it. Please pray, pray, pray (and pray some more). Please contribute if you can. And please fast. It is effective. And if you are still laughing at them “defecting from the Church”, you’re not alone.

And on this end, in a boxer’s stance with my spiritual fists clenched. These women fight for us. I will fight for them. Will you?

St. Teresa of Avila and St. Therese, pray for us!

Do They Know Something We Don’t? Hint: This Isn’t the First Time They’ve Done This.

Take a gander at this:

If you zoom in close at the bottom you’ll see election results. For an election that isn’t complete for another week. Odd, huh?

Here’s this:

https://twitter.com/kylenabecker/status/1851665417137516782?s=19

They claim that they were running a “test”.

Here’s a personal anecdote.

In November 2002, yours truly was working in the newsroom at station WNYW in New York. That’s the Fox Television owned and operated station in the #1 market in the country. We’re not talking small potatoes here. While at my desk one evening I noticed the flashing bar on my screen. It was an AP news flash. It was – ready for it – the election returns for an election that had not yet taken place.

I noticed this because my father was one of the candidates for Congress from a district in NJ in the viewing area. In his retirement he routinely rounded up signatures to get on the ballot as the only pro-life candidate. These results were replete with numbers and percentages and projected winners.

I took a picture and sent the story to Matt Drudge who ran it.

AP Immediately issued a “clarification” that they were merely running a test.

Oddly, as I recall, the results were almost spot on a week later.

Make of this what you will.

Arlington Carmel Update

In case you missed it…

A friend of mine remarked, “What part of ‘And the horse you rode in on’ doesn’t the bishop understand?”

I plan to write much more on this. Please keep these nuns in your prayers. there is so much that is wrong with this situation. And – in case you couldn’t tell – the above article makes it quite obvious how peeved these interlopers are that the nuns transferred their property. Hehe.

St. Teresa of Avila, pray for us!
