“As We Forgive Those Who Trespass Against Us”

This morning, I sat in a packed courtroom in support of a dear friend. This friend was making a statement to the court as a matter of public record. Two years ago his son, a young man in his early 20’s, was murdered in cold blood. Today, the killer was sentenced and my friend addressed him in court.

The convicted was placed in handcuffs. That was mildly satisfying to behold. He was walked to one side of the courtroom and surrounded by multiple armed sheriff’s officers. Then my friend was allowed to enter the well of the court and, surrounded by prosecutors, faced the man who took his son’s life.

The statement ran about 20 minutes long. It was delivered with an eloquence I could not imagine possessing in that situation. He spoke of his son and the terrible loss his family has suffered. He spoke of justice (the killer got 40 years but will likely be released in 20) and he spoke of grief.

But it was the end of his oration that literally made a hush fall over the courtroom.

He cited the Our Father and it’s “pesky last lines” about forgiveness. And then he said, “I forgive you,” to the man who shattered his family.

He took a rosary out of his pocket and offered to the killer, inviting him to pray this prayer every day of his sentence.

He told the killer that he sincerely hoped that this young man would be in paradise with his son one day.

Friends, it is one thing to know the Catholic faith.

It is quite another to live it.

Prayers for a Friend

Might I implore you, dear readers, to offer a rosary for a friend of mine? I can tell you more later but for now, please ask Our Lady, Mediatrix of all Graces and Mother of Good Counsel, to be with him in the next 24 hours.

Thank you kindly.

Tucho: A Time for Choosing?

Have you heard the one about the antipope who appointed his sodo-“friend” head of the doctrine office, made him a “cardinal”, and then scrubbed the internet of that same friend’s past pamphlet about male orgasms? Penetrating minds want to know.

Seems little Tucho just loves dabbling in hardcore filth. Today, while those of us who still care were praying that the Catholic Church be delivered of such monstrous abominations as Bergoglio and Fernández, we learned that little Tucho had some previously undiscovered writings under his belt. And you thought The Art of Healing Mouth Tongue Thing was bad enough. I guess it was lost in translation. This baby’s a real beaut’…

I will not repost any of it. It’s bad enough I had to see any of it in the news articles I glanced at before I clicked off the page. Believe me. I’m not a “prude” either.

But little Tucho? As we’d say in my native Newark, “That boy’s f***ed up.”

Then we get the joy of reading that more and more Trad Inc partisans are suddenly coming around and realizing that this clown show in Rome is what we’ve been saying they are for several years. They are criminal usurpers. Dr. TM (who never doesn’t use his academic title as a first name) questioned whether we should investigate the situation. Investigate?! Listen, man, millions of souls have already fallen on the battlefield and you want to investigate? I mean, thanks for getting your head out of your ass today but we’re beyond that stage. As the monk said when listening to the Book of Armaments, “Skip ahead a bit, brother…”

Friends, remember these things. Little Tucho was appointed by his buddy Jorge with full knowledge of little Tucho’s porno-past. In fact, he was probably appointed because of it. Then ask yourselves this question. If any grown man wrote such things, let alone thought them up, would you let him within a mile of your kids? Could you pass a safe environment course to teach your own kids CCD having written that trash?

No? You couldn’t?

And he’s running doctrine in the Vatican…

Have you woken up yet?

You know who wants you enmeshed in porn? The one who was a liar and a murderer from the beginning, that’s who.

I could go on but you get the point. Or maybe you don’t and think it’s time we only begin to ask questions.

First Saturday, Too!

Here’s the devotion. Now get to it!

First Friday/Vigil of Epiphnay

If you have never done the first Friday devotion, there is no better time to start than the first Friday of the year.

It’s also the vigil of the Epiphany so be on the lookout for the blessing of Epiphany water which not a few parishes will offer on this day.
