RIP to One of the Greatest of ALL Time

Dolly Parton was a truly remarkable woman and one of the greatest talents this country ever produced.

I am genuinely sad.

I’ll never forget when my daughter went as Dolly for Halloween in 2020. She was 10 years-old. She got nervous thinking no one would know who she was. I coaxed her onto the porch to take a picture and my neighbor Dennis, may he rest in peace, was raking his leaves. He stopped and shouted, “Well hey, Miss Dolly Parton!” in the most perfect Texas twang. And my daughter felt comfortable going trick or treating.

But one of my favorite Dolly “moments” was when she mopped the floor with Barbara Walters in one of her interviews with the singer. Go check it out ok YouTube. A master class in class.

I am a city boy who never cared much for country music but Dolly was something special. From 9-5 to Here you Come Again, Tennessee Homesick Blues, and Coat of Many Colors, Dolly never stopped spewing that talent God gave her. I pray she rests in peace for all the joy she brought so many millions of people.

I just visited the Country Music Hall of Fame last week and grabbed this pic:
