She Sure Is Making Herself Known…

One of the promises one leg when praying St. Rita novena is to “make your favors known”.

Regular readers will note not only my devotion to this great saint of the impossible, but also my ongoing novenas to her and how I frequently ask if I can add your intentions as well. So many of you have generously given me that agency and I have happily carried your prayers with my own every day to her.

Last week, in the midst of bearing down on some heavy intentions of my own. I received a red rose. It’s kind of her sign. The rose came from a Rita – my daughter. Just thought I’d like a rose. Simultaneously my visiting brother-in-law got out of my truck after Mass and, stooping down to the ground, picked up my rosaries. They had gone missing a few days earlier when I got out of the truck and they fell from my lap. These beads have been touched to the incorrupt body of St. Rita in Cascia, Italy and smell even more of roses now than they ever did. Signs? I sure hope.

Just today, scrolling through old pictures on my phone, I came across this gem.

A reader sent me this from the cathedral in Monaco some four years ago.

I don’t know what she’s trying to show me but I’m eager to find out.

Meanwhile, St. Rita, who has helped this poor sinner so many times, pray for me and for all of us!
