Watching the Grass Grow

As in that’s literally what I’m doing. We had some work done in our back yard toward the end of summer and I’ve just planted rye grass in order to keep all that expensive dirt that was trucked in to fix a drainage problem from eroding away. This stuff will probably spring up before the Texas weather takes its typical atypical Fall turn and the weather renders my sprinkler moot. Then I can move on to watching paint dry. Meanwhile here’s this:

Prayer Time

I received a request earlier for prayers in my St. Rita novena. Anyone else want to join in? I’ll be onto the next nine days starting on the 13th.

Always a Good Reminder

Psst…

Hey. Hey you…

Stay confessed.

Turning to Joseph

It is October, the month of the Rosary. In fact, this post is dated October 7th, the feast of the Most Holy Rosary. This reminded me earlier this evening while praying the rosary with my kids that there is a prayer to St. Joseph we need to say after the rosary in this month. Many of you know it by heart. I include a translation below.

To thee, O blessed Joseph, do we come in our tribulation, and having implored the help of thy most holy Spouse, we confidently invoke thy patronage also. Through that charity which bound thee to the immaculate Virgin Mother of God and through the paternal love with which thou embraced the Child Jesus, we humbly beg thee to graciously regard the inheritance which Jesus Christ has purchased by his Blood, and with thy power and strength to aid us in our necessities.

O most watchful Guardian of the Holy Family, defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ; O most loving father, ward off from us every contagion of error and corrupting influence; O our most mighty protector, be propitious to us and from heaven assist us in our struggle with the power of darkness; and, as once thou didst rescue the Child Jesus from the supreme peril of His life, so now protect God’s Holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity; shield, too, each one of us by thy constant protection, so that, supported by thy example and thy aid, we may be able to live holy lives, die happy deaths, and to obtain the joys of eternal life in heaven. Amen.

Part III Is Coming! Wait, You Still Haven’t Seen Parts I and II?

Friends, I was overjoyed when I heard that the Lady Barnhardt would be recording a new video that I had to pour out a gin and tonic. OK, a day of the week ending in “y” usually suffices. Here’s some background.

Below, I am embedding Parts I and II of her landmark video presentation on the Bergoglian Antipapacy. This is the presentation that I watched a few years ago that totally “flipped me” into this camp. I had known for some time that something was wrong with the whole “Fwancis is pope” thing but I could not figure out exactly how to square the circle. I do not consider myself an unintelligent man and this isn’t false modesty; but the whole situation is a mess from start to finish. Barnhardt laid out the case in a way that made crystal clear what exactly is going on. Passionate. Logical. To the point.

Ann promised never to do another video at the time of that production. However, recent events have prompted her to relent a bit. On Saturday October 7, the feast of the Holy Rosary, Ann will be recording Part III. Please pray for the success and widespread distribution of her effort. And if you haven’t seen the first two parts, have at it. Ann also does a phenomenal presentation on the topic of diabolical narcissism which is also worth a watch. Perhaps I’ll post that at a later date. It all kind of ties together.

Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, pray for us!

Laudate Da De Da

My day:

I woke up at 5:59 AM to pray the Angelus (in Latin because the devil hates that). Strike one, I suppose.

I stayed awake and brewed a full pot of black coffee. It’s one of those Cuisinart drip coffee pots. It’s about 16 years old and likely sucks electricity from the outlet like a firehose in reverse. It isn’t fair trade. It’s Folgers. And it is good. I dropped an ice cube from the ice maker in my massive freezer into said coffee so I could drink it quickly. Silly Western conveniences… Strike two?

I got into my SUV. It’s black and absorbs a lot of sunlight so I had the air on max. It’s only 75 degrees here this morning but, comfort. I even ran the engine for about ten minutes while I smoked a cigarette on my porch. so the car would be nice and cool when I got in. Strike three.

I drove to a Latin Mass. And the strikes just keep on comin’! I left a trail of butts out the window so I could find my way home. It’s so “Hansel and Gretel” of me, I know. I prayed for the Church and my marriage to my wife who is a woman and our children who have no tattoos, no gender issues, and no social media. We had wanted to breed like rabbits but God had other plans. Strike. Strike. Strike.

I got home and stepped on a bug in my driveway. It was gross and would probably have caused my daughter to shriek had she seen it. I made an appointment for a contractor to come and quote me a price on a massive HVAC system for a few rooms that had been added onto my house by the previous owners. Strikety-strike strike.

I ran out of smokes and drove the SUV a half-mile to the pharmacy for more. I could’ve walked but why?

I test drove a 22 year old gas guzzler around mid-day (after the second Angelus, of course). My son just got his permit and I think it would be a good way for him to drive to daily Latin Mass while learning how to work on an internal combustion-gas powered engine. More strikes.

I drove my wife to the airport so she could fly away on a beautiful jet on a work trip. Oh that AC is sooooo nice.

I came home, dug a ribeye out of my garage freezer, and cooked it up on my grill. Oh, that’s right. I have two freezers. Hehe. The cow that gave us this delight probably farted a lot. To be fair, I didn’t cook it too much. A good vet could have saved her.

I prayed the third Angelus.

I prayed my rosary, my novenas, and my litanies.

I contemplated tomorrow and my carbon footprint… and I laughed.

And I thanked God He gave me this life.

You were saying something about earth worship and one-world government, Antipope Bergoglio?

The Speaker

The palace intrigue surrounding the vacating of the Speakership of the House of Representatives is fascinating to me. Still, I am reminded of the Psalm:

“Put not your trust in princes: In the children of men, in whom there is no salvation.”

Ps. 145: 2-3
