Christ Is Risen! Alleluia!

A most blessed and happy Easter to each of you!

The Five Wounds

The great Mark Docherty posted this. It definitely deserves a look.

This is perhaps my favorite image from the Stations of the Cross. Look at how lovingly, with joy and anticipation, He embraces the instrument of His death for you and for me!

The image is from the Stations in Our Lady of Good Counsel parish in Newark, NJ – my home parish growing up.

Holy Thursday and the Memorial of the Passion

From Liguori:

“Do this in commemoration of me. (Luke xxii. 19). St. Thomas says that the Redeemer left us the Most Blessed Sacrament that we may ever remember the blessings He has obtained for us, and the love He showed us in dying for us. And hence the Blessed Eucharist is called by the same holy Doctor Passionis Memoriale, a memorial of the Passion.”

Take note. A MEMORIAL OF HIS PASSION. How may of us grew up hearing that Mass was our “communal meal” without ever hearing that this is Christ’s Passon re-presented to us? I thank God every day He brought me to Tradition.
