UPDATED: Bishop Strickland

I’ve now been to Mass and had my coffee.

The Communion verse is from Matthew 24:

“Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, shall find watching. Amen I say to you, he will set him over all his goods.”

All of us must be watchful.

And Bishop Strickland, I hope you remember that Corporation Sole means just you, Your Excellency.

Update:

I drove to Tyler this morning after Mass. I was already headed that way to bring my son to visit a friend who had moved out here. After dropping him off, I headed over to the Cathedral of the Diocese. I knelt before the Tabernacle which also put me pretty squarely in front of the bishop’s cathedra. I prayed there for Bishop Strickland that God would give him the courage to fight this evil.

BISHOP STRICKLAND’S cathedra, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Tyler, TX

Other than a photographer wrapping up from a quincianera, the place was dead. I thought to myself, “How odd that this is the center of the Catholic news cycle on this dreary November day…”

Crowning with Thorns, stained glass, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Tyler, TX. The fruit of this mystery of the rosary is FORTITUDE.

Strickland Out

Not that we didn’t know this was coming but it appears the antipope has “removed” Bishop Strickland from Tyler.

I will be in Tyler today. I’ll see what more I can find out.

Friday Penance

Seems hardly penitential when surrounded by ones amazing family.

ZZZ…

It’s been quite the week for me with travels and I have more coming up. Clearly I conked out early last night. But before I did my wonderful son reminded me that we had not said our night prayers. I usually use the prayers found in my hand missal. If you’re familiar with them, they are not a brief series of prayers. But, he knows I’m committed to praying them each night. So here is a “late” post to tell you: mission accomplished. He’s a good son and the time spent in family prayer is invaluable.

Beware of False Priests

Not long ago I posted that there had been a somewhat unspecified threat against the local Carmel here in my neck of the woods. I also mentioned that the diocese had issued a warning to all the parishes here about a this same threat.

Well, it seems the local branches of the MSM have picked up on the story.

“Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Warns of ‘Father Martin’, a Fake Priest Stealing from Churches”

There is more to the story that KHOU did not report. For instance, this “Father Martin” has used, on at least one occasion, the line that he was “sent from Rome to take a census of Mass attendance on Sundays”. Whoever this guy is, he’s bad news. He certainly seems to know enough of the lingo to worm his way into private areas of rectories. He was previously seen in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Say a prayer that the police catch this guy.

And as always, STAY CONFESSED.

Our Lady, Queen of Peace, pray for us!

She was Waiting for Me

I just got home after a week away for a family wedding. Look who was in my mailbox…

New novena starts on Wednesday. Send your intentions and I will add them.
