Thanks, Daddy, for always giving me the greatest example of what a father does. You took care of us and you protected us. And you taught us the faith. I, your youngest son, still go to Mass EVERY DAY because of your example. And I pray for you there at the foot of Calvary.
Here we are, Father’s Day 2026. A perfect Sunday morning. Except I’m waking up at 2:30 AM to get to the airport to travel again. This time it is not only for work but also to bring my daughter on a week-long college visit. Happy Father’s Day to me! My kids already gave me their gift – a Mass card from the FSSP. And a recliner! Yes, I’m getting old and my sciatica is killing me lately. I still like to sit and watch TV with them every now and then so this was a most thoughtful gift. But to the original post; the Blessed Mother still to this day takes good care of me. I will be able to make it to a TLM. And praised be Jesus Christ for that!
I spent Saturday afternoon doing something I never imagined I’d do. Me – white boy from Jersey – DJ’ed a quinceañera in Texas. It was beautiful! My friend’s daughter just turned 15. The priest who said the Mass is being transferred to another FSSP parish before I return home next week and that makes me sad. Mind you, my focus has been on the fact that I am a blight on every picture taken at the Quincé. Pride. Vanity. Terrible things. Oh well.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there (and to all my priests). Here’s my advice to you. Be present to your kids and to your flock. That’s the most important thing we ask.

“Now, let me be clear so that people can follow me. My religion outlaws sodomy and greatly shuns gay inclinations, gay relationships, and effeminate men. And if there are any such men in existence, then they need to be converted to normalcy. My religion says that God can be a jealous God, and that all other gods are demons, and that there is only one True Religion. All others are demonic lies. There is no such thing as divorce, and remarriage is adultery. We don’t live to be “greenpeace gardeners” of the Earth; we live to know and love God and one day meet Him in Heaven. And Christ didn’t resurrect to start up an NGO. He started a proselytizing organization on a mission during wartime to save humanity’s soul from the Devil. Also in my religion, the death penalty is one of the heaven-decreed penalties for a number of crimes. That is my religion.” - Laramie Hirsch (with permission)
