I have been blessed in my life to know several discalced Carmelites. On this, the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, I am offering my prayers for them. These include the Carmelite sisters in Fort Worth, TX, the Carmelite sisters in Dallas, TX, and a friend who became the extern of a Carmel that is no longer extant as such.
There is a saying:
“Day and night; on Carmel’s height, someone is always praying for you.”
What a comfort to know that these Carmelites – the sisters in particular – are literally propping up the Church and the world with their prayers!
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for us! (And please everyone who reads this, say a prayer for my daughter who’s taking an important test today.)
And to my friends in Fort Worth, I remain on your side and pray for you daily.
